Michael, Sophia and I spent Labor Day weekend at the Sundance Resort in Utah. The Sundance Resort hosted its third food and wine festival this year and we are proud to say that we’ve participated in all three of them. The event was co-sponsored by
Salt Lake City Magazine
and featured some top local restaurants, art and outstanding wines.

The walk-around tasting includes a silent auction which benefits environmental causes, as well as an opportunity to sample wine from all of the participating wineries, and delicacies from the participating restaurants. The tickets cost $75.00 and the event is always held on the Sunday prior to Labor Day, between 12pm and 4pm.
This program was initiated in 2004, when the resort partnered with specific vintners who share a common mission and values which include (but are not limited to): a commitment to the environment; celebrating wine as art; the celebration of an independent voice and spirit; and creativity. The Sundance wine label program features the following wines: Mer Soleil, Sundance Late Harvest Viognier; Bethel Heights, Sundance Redford Reserve, Justice Vineyard Pinot Noir; Selby Winery , Sundance Chardonnay; Judd’s Hill Winery, Sundance Merlot; Honig Winery, Sundance Sauvignon Blanc; Belle Glos Winery, Sundance Pinot Noir; and Altamura Winery, Sundance Cabernet Sauvignon. The event has sold out every year and has become a fabulous way to raise money for the resort and feature food and wine in a state that has very strict alcohol laws.
The Sundance Preserve is a breath taking place. It is nestled at the base of 12,000-foot Mount Timpanogos in Utah and resides within the protected splendor of its own preserved lands. Its mission is to inspire action for the benefit of civil society. The Sundance Resort offers year round mountain recreation, award winning dining, rustically elegant accommodations, a Native American-inspired spa, art classes at the Sundance Art Shack and shopping at the Sundance General Store. Created by Robert Redford, Sundance is a haven for discovery and inspiration.
