Bryan Upton was born in Southern California, and raised in Carson City, Nevada. After graduating high school, he attended Arizona State University where he earned a B.S. in Agribusiness Marketing. Upon graduation, Bryan received offers from several agribusiness firms in the mid-west, but he declined them all with hopes of landing his dream job in the wine industry, a passion passed on to him by his late uncle, Gregory Upton. After a short run in Minnesota in 2008, Bryan couldn't shake the wine making bug anymore. Napa Valley and the pending autumn harvest were calling his name. He got his first big break during the 2009 harvest with a custom-crush facility, Bin to Bottle.
As a cellar intern, Bryan strived to learn new skills and absorbed on-the-job knowledge from winemakers and inside staff. Pumping juice, dragging hoses, cleaning tanks - all the while, learning the nuances of winemaking. Hard work lead to a job in the lab, and later a promotion to Lab Manager. This exposure taught him the critical chemistry and fine lines of superb wine making. In 2013 Bryan happily joined the Honig team as Production Assistant.
On his days off, Bryan loves spending time with his wife, Greta, and their dog Fritz. He enjoys golfing, cooking, and anything San Francisco sports related (Go 49ers and Giants!).
